อินเดียส่งเครื่องบินรบสกัดเครื่องบินแอร์ฟร้านซ์เหตุกัปตันบอกรหัสเครืองผิด

  กองทัพอากาศอินเดีย เปิดเผยว่า อินเดียส่งเครื่องบินรบ เอ็มไอจี 29 สกัดเครื่องบินโดยสาร แอร์บัส-343 ของสายการบินแอร์ฟรานซ์ ของฝรั่งเศส ซึ่งอยู่ระหว่างบินเหนือน่านฟ้าของอินเดีย หลังบินขึ้นจากปากีสถาน มุ่งหน้าสนามบินสุวรรณภูมิ เช้าวันอังคารที่ผ่านมา เนื่องจากกัปตันของเครื่องบินดังกล่าวไม่สามารถระบุสถานะที่ถูกต้องได้

      อย่างไรก็ดี เครื่องบินรบของอินเดียยุติปฏิบัติการณ์และกลับเข้าฐานหลังจากเครื่องบินของสายการบินแอร์ฟรานซ์ ระบุรหัสถูกต้อง ทั้งนี้ กองทัพอากาศของอินเดียได้เพิ่มมาตรการรักษาความปลอดภัยตลอดแนวชายแดนด้านที่ติดกับปากีสถาน หลังจากเกิดเหตุโจมตีมุมไบของอินเดียเมื่อปีที่แล้ว ซึ่งเป็นเหตุให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตมากกว่า 180 คน

On 27 August 2009 at approximately 0610 hrs IST one aircraft was picked up by IAF radars, Southeast of Amritsar in the Northern Sector. The aircraft was flying at a flight level of 37,000 feet and entered Indian airspace on an established border entry point on ATS route.

The aircraft was not in communication and also the secondary radar response code (Identification Friendly or Foe) i.e. Squawk code of the aircraft, was not correct and the aircraft was identified as ‘Unknown’. Immediately an IAF, MiG-29 fighter jet was scrambled to intercept and investigate the identity of the ‘unknown’ aircraft. It was only later that the aircraft started transmitting correct secondary radar response code and was picked up and identified by AD radar as civil airliner(A-343)of Air France(AFR-164).The flight was from Paris to Bangkok.

The MiG-29 fighter aircraft was given instructions to break off and return to base. A formal report of the incident has been forwarded to AAI.
